O St Cantereau restaurant pub bistronomique

What an amazing place! The food is delicious, the owners are dedicated to their craft and very kind and helpful. We went for dinner there twice, simply because we wanted to try more from the menu.Our dog was allowed inside and even got some leftovers from lunch. :) We hope to go there again the next time we're in the area.

I don’t usually write reviews but this was such a great find! Great location (eating under a beautiful tree), great & imaginative food, and great home brewed beer. We were in the area for a wedding at the weekend but arrived on a Wednesday. Nothing else was open near to where we were staying on a Wednesday evening so we thought we'd give it a try. The owner was charming and the experience was very memorable. It was so good that we went back again the next night! It was such a pleasant surprise to have such imaginative food options rather than the same old thing that is served everywhere. My husband loves a beer so was thrilled to have a light homebrew. French beer is always so strong so it was great for him to have a beer like back in England! Much of the food was smoked on site in their own fumoir. It was all presented beautifully and was delicious. Amazing thick slices of smoked trout, deliciously smooth foie gras, brilliant chips, etc. etc. The owner's wife was away so he was alone in the kitchen and serving. He did a great job. We felt very relaxed, well fed and well looked after. We would recommend this establishment very highly and hope that they are very successful. With such hard work and clear passion for quality, they deserve to be very successful. I wish we had somewhere like that in our village in Burgundy!! Outstanding food that is a little different from the normal fare of the region. The restaurant is run by a lovely couple who obviously have a huge commitment to high quality food, who have recently taken over. They have their own smoker and so we had slow cooked smoked beef that just melted, homemade pastrami, homemade trout gravelax and smoked bone marrow, all outstanding. We also had beer brewed by the family, which was excellent. Service was brilliant, especially when attending to the children, making sure that they are first. Be sure to phone ahead and book as they only have a few tables.

Very welcoming, we were a group of 8 with 4 small children, they brought out games for the kids and the food was brilliant.

I don't really like posting reviews but I thought this restaurant really deserved it. On the advice of a resident of the Dordonge based on his good experience, we ended up at this restaurant. And nothing could be further from the truth. We were served a friendly welcome, fresh home-made products. We had such a delicious meal on our first visit that we made reservations again three days later. There was a new menu that day with again delicious dishes.Highly recommended, don't forget to make a reservation because they only have a limited number of tables

Great food in a great location. All very laid back and stress free.

A wonderful couple who work harder than most restauranteurs I have ever met, the food was superb, the local Artisan Beer was excellent and the setting was perfect. Thank you for squeezing us in without a reservation, we had a wonderful evening.
